i have waited a long, long time to see this, and the wait is finally over. while i can see how the changing color scheme and the constant jumping from one period of time to the next bothered some folks, there is no denying how amazing this film was shot. the camerawork and set designs are fantastic. also, the performances are pretty great as well. definitely a different kind of anderson flick, but in a good way. it's a beautiful spectacle

rewatched this to show the kid "a classic." she didn't really dig it. i thought it was still pretty good. faye dunaway is absolutely stunning. the lady was a knockout. i had forgotten how graphic the violence was in this, especially by 1967 mainstream cinema standards. shit was pretty bloody. i'm pretty sure coppola was influenced by that end sequence when he was shooting the tollbooth scene in "the godfather", but i might be wrong. overall, a decent flick

it has been years since i saw this movie, and tonight i watched the uncut version. uncut version or theatrical version, both are brutal in their execution. that scene with the grandfather, alone, is so messed up, not to mention the whole murderous "santa" in the beginning. and that is just the start of the movie, folks! this is just a nasty slasher from eighties lore. it is one you can never forget once you've seen it
