My mistake for not realizing that this isn't a direct sequel to 1966's Django. Just sort of the sameish idea and the same name. Still I think I enjoyed this version more. It's not quite as gratuitous with the violence (yes I understand that's why some people watch the genre) which is nice sometimes. Seemed a bit lower budget then the '66 version though.

I do wish I lived in the timeline that didn't have the theme sampled for 'Crazy' it's very distracting.

I do usually prefer my noirs in black and white so neo-noirs never quite hit the spot as much as I'd like them to .

I wish Bridget was written with a bit more depth, she seemed very 1 dimensional, just the psycho bitch. I think with just a bit of reworking the character it could have really elevated the film. Still enjoyable though.

    Hooptober 5.0 - Film #2

A perfect movie, and it pains me that I only saw it for the first time last year.

The ending always makes me think. Am I supposed to go with the obvious answer of what happened, or embrace the Twilight Zone and choose the alternate. Personally I go with the Twilight Zone type interpretation, it just seems the most real.

Trying to keep this vague to avoid giving anything away.

Task #17 - Watch a movie based on one of Steven King's works

    -------------------------------------------------------------

All these years I've thought this was one of the BAD Stephen King adaptations so I've avoided it. But it's GOOD!

Now I've never read the book so I can't say how it faithful it is, but the movie is good. Carpenter does his thing well, the score is perfect, the acting is a little wooden in parts but it doesn't really detract from the overall experience.
