lol de Carrouges is an absolute dolt of a man.
The duel is brutal and ugly and between two disgusting rapists. And it's god's will lol.
This is one of, if not the most, gorgeous films I've ever seen. Terrence Malick crafts a film that is loose on plot, high on feeling and it never feels exploitative. This movie seems like the best story your slightly inebriated grandparent told you on a late August afternoon. It waxes poetic about the past but the blemishes of the past are there in full view.
This isn't in regards to the actual investigation (I don't believe in a conspiracy but that's whatever), this is in regards to the way it's presented on screen. First and foremost the recreations would be amateurish for a Unsolved Mysteries episode. The Courtney Love actress is unconvincing as a human, I don't know if that's because the director clearly hates Courtney Love or if he doesn't know how to direct women. Courtney Love is obnoxious and over the top but…
