Showdown The Big Apple: To the Five Burroughs!

Showdown: New York City! These are the ten films which first come to mind when I think of NYC. They are not necessarily the *best* ten films about or set in New York (of which there are many, including King Kong, The Godfather, Serpico, Manhattan, Goodfellas and tons of others). Instead, they are the ones that taught me the most about the physical and human geography of the city when I first watched them, mostly as a young kid living on the other side of the country. I've visited New York City a few times, and whenever I visit I often find myself scoping out the filming locations for some of these films.

Honorable mentions that didn't make the cut since the list is capped at 10: Bad Lieutenant, King of New York, American Psycho, Ghostbusters, Wall Street, Black Swan, Taxi Driver, Kids, Juice (and all the films listed in the above paragraph).
