    Not only transcends Scream 4’s campy comedy by being a super solid slasher with effective and traditional kills and twists, but that’s kind of the point. Scream’s attempts at pulling nostalgia and heart from a franchise that’s legacy is witty cynicism and subversion is somewhat of a misstep, but it’s desire to give something refreshing is clear.

    Who would have thought that a hilarious and somewhat poignant film about the negligence of the elderly would come in the form of a sci-fi anime mecha rampage? Roujin Z addresses issues like the lack of consideration to the aging population ("Why does she care about him? He's just an old man!" shouts one of the characters) and the wisdom/passion they have that the public seldom acknowledges (the elderly hackers).
